Come to Costa Blanca in Spain and learn to climb!
This top rope course is perfect for those who have not climbed before. You will learn the basics about how to climb and belay, about the equipment we use, and how to climb safely.
During the 2026 trip, courses can be booked anytime between October 20 and November 12.
Bring climbing shoes. If you have a harness, carabiners, a belay device, and a helmet, feel free to bring that too, otherwise you can borrow from me.
- Prerequisites: None at all.
- Maximum number of participants: Up to 4.
- Age limit for single participants: 18 years. With Participating Parent: 13.
Surmount organizes climbing courses and events in Scania and southern Sweden, and in Costa Blanca, Spain. If you want to get a green card, red card, learn to sport climb, rappel, become an instructor or outdoor climbing leader, improve your climbing technique, learn something specific, or just try climbing, I can help you.
**Who am I? **
My name is Sami Ylinen. I started climbing in 2006, and I've been a certified climbing instructor since 2016 with the Swedish Climbing Federation, Svenska Klätterförbundet. I have previously worked as a climbing instructor and shop manager at Klättercentret in Malmö, and I also teach climbing at Malmö Climbing Club.
I'm originally from Timrå, but I've lived in Malmö for more than 20 years. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy climbing sport or trad, preferably in Spain, making pancakes over a camp fire, painting and drawing, and building stuff. I also work as a goldsmith. I have masters degrees in music and in pedagogy, and I'm a certified first aid and CPR instructor.
